Dr. Krauss Says Farewell

Dr. Krauss Says Farewell
December 31, 2019

It is with bittersweet feelings that we announce Dr. Krauss' farewell.

Dr. Krauss has been practicing at Franklin County Animal Hospital for over twenty years, and we’ll miss him dearly. We hope he enjoys the next chapter in his life.

He would like to leave his clients with these words:

To my clients at Franklin County Animal Hospital,

It is with a mix of emotions that I want to let you know about the next stage in my career as a veterinarian.

As many of you know, Sherri and I are planning on moving to Florida after our youngest child finishes at Franklin County High School a year from May.

Recently, I have been offered a once in a lifetime opportunity to start this transition now with a job based in Florida. I will be combining all that I love about veterinary medicine along with my passion for mentoring and leading the next generation of my profession.

While the timing is not perfect, and I would have preferred this to have been offered to me a year and a half from now, I feel a chance like this is too perfectly suited for me to turn away from. Franklin County has been my home for the past 20 years, and I can think of no better place to have lived, built a business, and raised my children.

Sherri and I both love this area and adore all the people we have met and the close friends we have made over these past two decades. Change is hard, but I feel that this is what is ultimately the right move for Sherri and me.

So, what does this mean for all my wonderful clients at Franklin County Animal Hospital? It means we will continue to always provide the absolute BEST care for you and your pets for many years to come. It means you will see me around town and even in the clinic on occasion as I will continue to work on a fill-in basis. It means that all of my long-term employees will still be there to greet you and your pets when you call or walk in the door. It means you will still see Sherri there managing the practice and guiding my amazing team. It means that all of you, whose pets I have cared for from when they were new puppies all the way through the senior years, whose children I have watched grow-up and return as clients themselves, whose lives I have been so blessed to be a part of these last 20 years, will always and forever hold a very special place in my heart.

Words alone are inadequate to fully express my gratitude for all the support this community and my clients have shown me and my family. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!

Becoming a veterinarian was always my dream since I was a child and serving you and your pets over these past 20 years has brought me more joy and satisfaction than I ever imagined was possible. I look forward to these next 20 years and promise you Franklin County Animal Hospital will continue to be the absolute best veterinary care this area has to offer.

When you see me in town, please stop and say hi. When you are in the clinic, ask the staff when I will be in. I cherish each and every one of you more than you will ever know.

With gratitude,

Dr. Eric Krauss, DVM
